Kuwait Arrests 79 in Fahaheel Security Sweep

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 18: Kuwait's security arrested 79 people and issued 63 traffic violations during a targeted campaign in Al-Ahmadi Governorate, the Ministry of Interior announced.

The operation, carried out by the Governorate Security Directorate under the Security Directorates Affairs Sector, focused on the Fahaheel area and targeted street vendors violating labor and residency laws, as well as wanted individuals and other lawbreakers.

Breakdown of Arrests

39 people arrested without identification
29 wanted in connection with various cases
5 detained for expired visas and residency permits
4 held for violating street vendor regulations
2 others arrested:
- One wanted by the anti-narcotics unit
- One found in an intoxicated state and in possession of intoxicating substances

Traffic Enforcement

63 traffic violations issued

The ministry said standard legal and administrative procedures were taken against all violators ahead of their referral to the competent authorities.
