KUWAIT CITY, Sep 20 : Kuwait’s General Directorate for Drug Control has seized 700,000 Captagon tablets in an operation conducted as part of security cooperation between Kuwait and Iraq to combat drug trafficking and apprehend those involved.
The operation resulted in the arrest of an Iraqi national and a Bedoun at livestock pens in the Kabd area. The seized drugs were found in their possession. When confronted with the evidence, both reportedly confessed that the drugs belonged to them and were intended for trafficking.
The suspects were referred to the competent authorities for the necessary legal action.
The Ministry of Interior said the operation highlights the importance of international security cooperation in combating drug trafficking, uncovering trafficking activities and preventing the spread of narcotics.
