KUWAIT CITY, Feb 3: The Ministry of Interior has issued a circular to ban police officers from appearing in public places in their police uniforms These public places include markets, shopping malls, cooperative societies, wedding and event halls, cemeteries, and mourning gatherings. The ministry affirmed that disciplinary action will be taken against officers who violate the circular, with exceptions made only for those whose duties require their presence in these locations. In other news, the Ministry of Interior continues its efforts to arrest and deport expatriates who violate residency and labor laws.
According to security sources, the Deportation Center has completed the transfer of female detainees from the old detention building in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh to a new, internationally-compliant facility in the Sulaibiya area. The sources also revealed that the number of deportations in January alone reached approximately 2,000 individuals belonging to various nationalities. The sources explained that the Deportation Department continues to streamline the deportation process for violators referred from all security sectors, ensuring that the necessary humanitarian requirements are met during the detainees’ detention period. The Ministry of Interior confirmed that it will not hesitate to enforce the law and hold violators accountable, including both the worker and the employer.
