KUWAIT CITY, April 12: The Higher Committee for Food Safety, during its meeting, recommended a ban on the import of all fresh, chilled, processed, and frozen poultry meat of all types, including its derivatives and products, as well as table eggs—except those heat-treated at 70°C—originating from certain regions in the United States, including Minnesota, Ohio, Oregon, Missouri, and North Dakota, due to an outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza. The committee also recommended a similar ban on imports from New Zealand for the same reason. Additionally, the committee recommended lifting the ban on the import of all fresh, chilled, processed, and frozen poultry meat, its derivatives and products, and table eggs from France, following the end of the avian influenza outbreak in that country.
