KUWAIT CITY, March 27: Secretary of Kuwait Bar Association Khaled Al-Suwaifan has affirmed the association’s commitment to serve as a protective shield for the legal profession as it has established the foundations for regulating the profession and ensuring its proper performance by adopting professional and ethical standards that raise the quality of legal work in the country, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
In a press statement, Al-Suwaifan pointed out that the association provides an appropriate environment for lawyers to fulfill their noble mission of defending rights and consolidating the principles of justice by developing legislation that guarantees the independence of lawyers, as well as offering training courses and legal workshops that keep pace with global developments in the legal field. He said the association plays a pivotal role in representing Kuwaiti lawyers in international forums and contributes to strengthening communication with legal bodies and unions at the regional and international levels; hence, providing Kuwaiti lawyers with the opportunity to benefit from diverse legal experiences and engage in a global dialogue on developing laws and promoting justice.
He added “we will continue this approach and work to provide all the support that Kuwaiti lawyers need, whether by defending their rights or developing systems and laws which enhance their standing and role in achieving justice.” He also emphasized that “the future of the legal profession in Kuwait remains a top priority and we will exert tremendous efforts to guarantee the continuation of this honorable journey.”
