KUWAIT CITY, July 31: The Kuwait youth basketball team is set to play its third match against Saudi Arabia at 7:30 pm today at the Union Hall in Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Sports Complex for Indoor Halls. This game is part of the fourth round of the Asian Youth Cup qualifiers (Gulf Region), hosted by Kuwait, which will conclude tomorrow, Friday. Before this match, Oman will face Qatar at 5:00 pm.

In the second round of the Asian qualifiers, the Kuwait team was defeated by Qatar 79-60 while Saudi Arabia lost to Bahrain 94-97. After this round, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain are tied with 3 points each, Qatar has 2 points, and Oman remains with 1 point.

The third round took place last night, with Oman playing against Bahrain and Saudi Arabia facing Qatar, while Kuwait had a rest day according to the tournament schedule. In today’s match, the Kuwait team aims to keep their hopes alive for qualifying for the Asian Cup finals by defeating Saudi Arabia.

Additionally, the Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Adel Al-Asoumi, commended the organization of the Asian Championship and the efforts of the Kuwait Basketball Federation's Board of Directors. During his attendance on the second day of the championship, he expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the hospitality and excellent organization, emphasizing the importance of the qualifiers in fostering fraternal ties within the Gulf Cooperation Council and enhancing the technical development of young players through strong competition and sportsmanship.
