KUWAIT CITY, April 29: Kuwait’s national beach volleyball teams are intensifying their daily training sessions on the Green Island courts ahead of the West Asia Championship, scheduled to take place in Doha, Qatar, from May 5 to 10.
The national delegation is competing in the tournament with four teams. The men’s side features Abdulwahab Talib and Jassim Al-Sabbagh (Team 1), and Nawaf Talal and Ibrahim Diaa (Team 2). The women’s teams include Al-Ghadeer Al-Sayegh and Dana Mansour, along with Munira Yousef and Halima Abdullah. The technical staff is led by head coach Ahmed Abdulrazzaq, with Issa Al-Saleem serving as the men's team administrator and Amal Al-Faraj managing the women's squad.
The teams recently took part in the Third Gulf Beach Games, where the duo of Talib and Al-Sabbagh achieved a respectable fifth-place finish.
Issa Al-Saleem praised the team's intensive preparations, emphasizing the commitment of the Kuwait Volleyball Federation and the national team management to equip the players for high-level performance.
“We aim to deliver a strong showing in the West Asia Championship and contend for top positions, despite the sport's recent absence from domestic competition,” Al-Saleem said. “We have a skilled technical team and ambitious players who are motivated to compete at their best. With continued support from the Federation, we are determined to give our all in Doha.”
