KUWAIT CITY, April 25: The Ministry of Interior, represented by the Criminal Security Sector, in coordination with the Public Authority for Industry and the Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy, conducted a security campaign on Thursday, April 24, 2025, after obtaining the necessary legal authorization. The operation targeted several residences being used for cryptocurrency mining in violation of existing laws and regulations.

This initiative is part of the state’s broader efforts to combat the illegal use of electrical energy and curb practices that place excessive strain on the power grid. Such activities increase the risk of network overloads, potentially causing power outages that can affect residential, commercial, and service areas, thereby endangering public safety. The campaign also aims to tackle unlicensed operations.

Several violating properties were identified during the operation, and cryptocurrency mining equipment and devices were seized. Legal action has been initiated against the offenders, who will be referred to the relevant authorities.
