KUWAIT CITY, Sept 16 : The Cabinet held an extraordinary meeting Thursday at the Farwaniya Hospital expansion project chaired by His Highness Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah. After the meeting, the Minister of Health and Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Sheikh Dr. Basil Hammoud Al-Sabah stated: In light of the interest and keenness of the Council of Ministers to follow up on the implementation of major developmental projects and implement them in line with the country’s future requirements, on the sidelines of the inspection visit paid by His Highness the Prime Minister and the concerned ministers to the site of the new Farwaniya Hospital project, and in implementation of the directives of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled, and to show appreciation to the medical teams that worked during the pandemic, the Prime Minister said that rewarding them is not enough.
Consequently the Council of Ministers decided to assign the Ministers of Health, of Information and Culture and the Minister of State for Youth Affairs to prepare a documentary that shows the role of the White Army and the sacrifices of the martyrs and victims among them so that history preserves their heroism. The Council also decided their names be placed in one of the prominent places in Jaber Al-Ahmad Hospital, in honor of their great role and to remind future generations of all the sacrifices they made to preserve the health system in the State of Kuwait and the safety of citizens and residents.
In this regard, the Cabinet listened to an explanation given by the Minister of Health Sheikh Dr. Basil, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health Dr. Mustafa Muhammad Reda and the Assistant Undersecretary for Engineering Affairs and Projects, Eng. Ibrahim Al- Nahham, about the latest developments in the workflow and the stages of completion of this vital project.
The Cabinet expressed its thanks and appreciation for the sincere efforts made by the Ministry of Health to implement the Ministry’s plan and projects to upgrade and develop health services in a manner that preserves the safety and health of citizens and residents. Cabinet also reviewed the visual presentation submitted by Sheikh Dr. Basil on the national vaccination campaign against (Covid 19), which included an explanation of vaccination stages that the country witnessed, which began with limited quantities of vaccines, in which specific priority groups were vaccinated before its expansion to a wider base of people in the country. The number of vaccinated citizens and residents reached 79 percent for those who received one dose and 71 percent for those who received two doses of the vaccine. (KUNA)
