KUWAIT CITY, March 26: The Council of Ministers convened its weekly meeting this morning at Bayan Palace, chaired by Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef. Following the session, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Sherida Al-Muasherji issued the following statement:
Amir’s Ramadan Address: A Call for Unity and Reform
The Cabinet began by reviewing the contents of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad’s recent speech, delivered during the last ten days of Ramadan. In his address, His Highness expressed optimism for a future marked by reform, progress, and national achievements, while cautioning against attempts to exploit the citizenship file to spread division and misinformation.
His Highness emphasized:
- Firm adherence to justice and national unity in handling citizenship matters, free from political pressures.
- The critical role of Kuwait’s national identity as a unifying force and a shield against external threats.
- The government’s commitment to accelerating development projects, particularly in health, education, and housing, and advancing legislation to serve citizens’ interests.
- Kuwait’s steadfast diplomatic stance in supporting regional and global justice.
The Amir also warned against divisive rhetoric and misinformation campaigns, urging citizens to prioritize national solidarity and the rule of law.
The Cabinet reaffirmed its dedication to implementing these directives, praying for Kuwait’s continued prosperity under the leadership of His Highness the Amir and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled.
Eid Al-Fitr Greetings and Ministerial Appointments
Ahead of Eid Al-Fitr, the Cabinet extended warm congratulations to the Amir, the Crown Prince, and the people of Kuwait, wishing the nation and the Islamic world peace and prosperity.
Acting Prime Minister Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef also welcomed Dr. Subaih Al-Mukhaizeem as the newly appointed Minister of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy, following Decree No. (53) of 2025. Sheikh Fahd praised Dr. Al-Mukhaizeem’s willingness to serve and wished him success in his role.
Commerce Ministry Addresses Raffle Fraud Scandal
Minister of Commerce and Industry Khalifa Al-Ajeel briefed the Cabinet on measures taken in response to the recent shopping festival raffle fraud incident, including:
- Referring the case to the Public Prosecutor for investigation.
- Coordinating with security agencies to ensure transparency and uphold public trust.
- A zero-tolerance policy toward violations undermining the ministry’s credibility.
The Cabinet voiced full support for the minister’s actions, stressing the importance of holding violators accountable.
