KUWAIT CITY, Jan 19: Kuwait has issued four decrees and one Cabinet decision to revoke and withdraw citizenship from 2,497 individuals, including 2,491 women, as published in the official gazette Kuwait Alyom.. The revocations were implemented per the Kuwaiti Nationality Law and its amendments.
The first decree, No. 1 of 2025, revoked citizenship from 2,489 women and individuals who had acquired citizenship through dependency.
The second decree, No. 9 of 2025, stipulated the withdrawal of citizenship from one person. The third decree, No. 10 of 2025, revoked citizenship from one individual and those who had acquired it through dependency. The fourth decree, No. 11 of 2025, targeted two women, along with individuals who had gained citizenship through dependency.
Additionally, a decision was issued by the Council of Ministers to withdraw the citizenship certificates of four individuals based on Article 21(A) of Amiri Decree No. 15 of 1959, which pertains to the Kuwaiti Citizenship Law and its amendments.
These measures reflect Kuwait's commitment to enforcing its nationality laws while addressing specific cases of irregularities in citizenship status.
