KUWAIT CITY, April 21: Kuwait has decided to close five of its embassies abroad in the wake of Decree 68 of 2024, which annuls its diplomatic missions in several countries. The affected nations include the Federal Republic of Myanmar, the Kingdom of Cambodia, the Lao Democratic Republic, Gabon, and Zimbabwe.

The Council of Ministers issued the decision, citing strategic considerations and diplomatic priorities. Additionally, Kuwait's consulate in Ho Chi Minh City, located in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, was also shuttered in alignment with the decree.

This move reflects Kuwait's recalibration of its diplomatic presence by evolving geopolitical dynamics and national interests. Stay tuned for further updates on Kuwait's diplomatic initiatives.
