Kuwait Club aims for glory in Gulf Handball Championship

MUSCAT, Feb 19: Sameh Al-Hajri, head of the handball department at Kuwait Sports Club, expressed his aspirations for the team to achieve results that honor Kuwaiti sports and secure the championship title at the Gulf Handball Championship, hosted by the Sultanate of Oman.

Speaking to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on the sidelines of the 41st Gulf Handball Championship for Cup Champions Clubs, Al-Hajri highlighted the tournament's significance. The tournament, which features seven Gulf clubs, including Kuwait Club, runs until February 24.

As the head of the Kuwaiti delegation, Al-Hajri emphasized the importance of this prestigious event in fostering unity and strengthening bonds among Gulf nations through sports. He described the championship as a valuable platform for players to showcase their skills and gain invaluable experience.

He predicted a highly competitive tournament, given that it brings together the top clubs from GCC countries, all of which have excelled in their domestic competitions. This, he noted, underscores the growth and advancement of handball in the region.

Al-Hajri affirmed that Kuwait Club has thoroughly prepared for this challenge. The club aims to deliver a performance that meets expectations and delights its passionate supporters. He also praised the players for their dedication and determination, expressing confidence in their ability to achieve positive results and contend for the championship title.
