KUWAIT CITY, Sept 23: Kuwait Club and Al-Arabi remain unwavering in their quest for dominance in the Zain Premier League, as both teams secured hard-fought victories to maintain their position at the top of the table with 15 points each.

Kuwait Club earned a crucial 3-1 win over Yarmouk, with the second goal coming as late as the 81st minute. It stayed on top of the table on goal difference over Al-Arabi, who battled through a challenging 2-1 win against Khaitan.

The two teams in the title race, without any significant threat from other competitors, apart from Al-Salmiya, who is third in the standings with 10 points. The "Sky Blues" have proven their strength, having previously defeated Al-Qadsiya in the fourth round, and snatching a last-minute 2-2 draw against Al-Fahaheel.

Al-Tadamon emerged as both the biggest winner and loser of this round. It claimed a victory over its local rival, Al-Nasr, moving it to fourth place with 7 points, capitalizing on the stumbles of Al-Fahaheel, Kazma, Al-Qadsiya, and Khaitan. However, Al-Tadamon also suffered a blow as head coach, Joao Mota, departed the club after receiving a tempting offer from Jordan’s Al-Hasit Irbid. Al-Fahaheel slipped to fifth place, level on points with Al-Tadamon but trailing on goal difference, after being unable to hold its lead against Al-Salmiya, eventually settling for a draw.

Al-Qadsiya and Kazma continued their poor form with both delivering lackluster performances in a draw. They now find themselves in fifth and sixth place, respectively, with Khaitan close behind in seventh. Al-Nasr’s woes deepened after another defeat, leaving it in ninth place with just 3 points, one point ahead of Yarmouk, who sit in tenth.

Al-Nasr’s poor run of results also led to the resignation of their coach, Dhaher Al-Adwani, following the team’s fourth defeat of the season.
