DOHA, Jan 21: The 43rd edition of the Arab Volleyball Championship for Clubs, hosted in Doha with 15 participating teams, concluded its first-round results, setting up key consolation and quarter-final matches.
In the consolation rounds for 9th to 12th places, Kuwait Club, third in Group 2, will face Burgan Club, third in Group 4, at 7:00 pm in Al-Arabi Club’s hall. Additionally, UAE’s Bani Yas will meet Bahrain’s Dar Kulaib. Meanwhile, Libya’s Al-Hilal will face Palestine’s Gaza for the 13th–15th positions.
Meanwhile, the quarter-final matches feature intense clashes:
Al-Suwaihli (Libya) vs. Al-Shorta (Qatar), Zamalek (Egypt) vs. Al-Jazira (UAE), Al-Ahly (Egypt) vs. Al-Salam (Oman)
Qatar (Qatar) vs. Al-Seeb (Oman)
Al-Qadsiya Club's first volleyball team departed for Doha to begin an external training camp ahead of the West Asian Championship, scheduled in Bahrain from February 2–18. The Doha camp will run until February 5, after which the team will travel directly to Bahrain for final preparations starting January 31.
The delegation, led by Board Member and Head of Volleyball Dr. Hussein Al-Qabandi, comprises Game Manager Ismail Dashti, Administrator Mohammed Al-Damkhi, Bahraini Head Coach Redha Ali, Assistant Coach Dordi Bejik, Physical Trainer Idris Jakich, Physiotherapist Nicola, Equipment Manager Samir Malana, and 15 players.
In domestic league matches, Al-Sulaibikhat defeated Al-Sahel 3-0, while Al-Shabab achieved the same scoreline against Al-Tadamon.By Khaled Al-Enezi
