KUWAIT CITY, Dec 4: The Union Hall at Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Indoor Halls Complex will host today’s highlight matches of the seventh round of the Union Volleyball Championship. The showdown features Qadsia and Kuwait Club at 7:00 pm, preceded by Al-Shabab taking on Al-Nasr at 5:00 pm.

Both Qadsia and Kuwait Club enter the match tied at the top of the standings with 15 points each, with Kuwait Club holding the lead due to a superior set difference. Both teams have already secured spots in the second round, where the top four teams from the preliminary round advance to the semi-finals. The first-place team will face the fourth, and the second will meet the third, with the winners progressing to the final. Meanwhile, Burqan and Kazma appear to be the frontrunners for the two remaining semi-final spots.

Kuwait Club is coached by Turkish tactician Taner Atik, who relies on a strong mix of local players and international stars, including Cuban Fernando Hernandez and Brazilian Rafael Vieira. Qadsia, under the guidance of Bahraini coach Reda Ali, counts on players such as Nasser Abdul Samad, Rashid Anbar, and Nasser Dashti, along with Iranian professional Mohammad Reza Beyk and Dutch star Thijs Ter Horst.

In the earlier match, fifth-placed Al-Shabab, with 7 points, looks to secure a win against bottom-ranked Al-Nasr, who has yet to score any points in the tournament.In other results, Al-Arabi defeated Al-Sulaibikhat 3-1 at the end of the sixth round, climbing to sixth place with 6 points, while Al-Sulaibikhat remains in eighth with no points. Al-Yarmouk notched its first victory of the tournament with a 3-0 win over Al-Nasr.
