KUWAIT CITY, March 6: Kuwait Club has officially appointed Brazilian coach Talmo Oliveira to lead its first volleyball team, replacing Turkish coach Taner Atik, whose contract was terminated by mutual consent. Oliveira is set to arrive in Kuwait today. In a key roster change, the club has also brought back former Iranian professional Saber Kazemi to replace Cuban player Fernando Hernandez Ramos. Kazemi arrived in Kuwait yesterday afternoon.
In a farewell message on social media, Atik acknowledged the challenges the team faced, stating that both parties agreed to end his contract amicably. He expressed gratitude to the players, technical staff, and all those who supported him during his tenure in Kuwait. He also extended his appreciation to Kuwait Club President Khaled Al-Ghanem for his understanding of the team's situation.
Meanwhile, Kuwait Club secured a dominant victory over Al-Arabi, winning 3-0 (25-20, 25-19, 26-24) in their recent match at the Volleyball Association Hall in Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Complex.
