Kuwait Club begins the journey in the Asian Clubs Handball Championship against Sharjah

Kuwait Club is looking for a positive start against Sharjah.

DOHA, Nov 12: Kuwait Club will begin its campaign in the 27th Asian Clubs Handball Championship against Sharjah of the UAE at 4:45 pm, in the opening match of Group One. The tournament is being held in Doha, Qatar, and will run until November 27. Later in the day, Kazma will play its second match of the competition against Saudi Arabia's Al-Khaleej at 6:30 pm in Group Two, which will also feature a match between Qatar’s Al-Duhail and Oman’s Ahli Sidab. Both groups will follow a single-round league format, with one team from Group Two eliminated after the first round. The leader of Group One will face the fourth-place team from Group Two, while the second and third positions in both groups will also meet in the next round.

Kuwait Club aims for a strong start against Sharjah, having prepared for the tournament with an external camp in Bahrain, where it played a friendly match. The team, led by Haitham Al-Rashidi, relies on a mix of local and foreign talent, including Qatari professionals Frankis Maroz and Miguel Hernandez, along with tournament professionals such as Algerian Osama Al-Jaziri, Portuguese Semedo, and Brazilian Guillermo Santista.

Kuwait Club is determined to secure a win and top its group, aiming to face the fourth-place team from Group Two in the next round.

Meanwhile, Sharjah is equally focused on delivering a strong performance, having bolstered its squad with three professionals: Zarko Markovic from Al-Gharafa, Warhad Aljodzic from Al-Arabi, and Ryan bin Mahmoud from Shabab Al-Ahli.By Hassan Mosa
