Kuwait Club clinches the U-16 Federation Cup

Federation Cup champions Kuwait Club celebrate on the podium.

KUWAIT CITY, March 31: Today marks the commencement of the 58th edition of the Volleyball League, featuring the kickoff of the first matches. The tournament adopts a “play-off” format comprising three matches between Kuwait Club, the reigning title holder and current season’s Federation and Super Cup champion, and Al-Qadisiya, the Federation Cup champion for the ongoing season. The team emerging victorious in two out of the three matches will be crowned the league champion. The inaugural match will take place at nine in the evening at the Federation Hall in the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Complex, with the second match scheduled for April 8th. In case of a tie after the initial two matches, a playoff match will be conducted on the 15th of this month to determine the season’s champion.

In other news, the Kuwait Club team clinched the U-16 Federation Cup championship title by defeating Kazma in the final match of the tournament. Kazma secured second place after a closely contested match, with the score standing at three games to two. Al-Qadisiya team secured third place following their victory over Yarmouk, with a score of three games to one.

Following the matches, Nayef Al-Failakawi, a member of the Federation’s Board of Directors, and Youssef Othman, Vice Chairman of the Federation’s Competitions Committee and Director of Volleyball at the Kuwait Club, along with Musleh Al-Rashidi, distributed commemorative medals to the players of the top three teams. Additionally, the championship cup was awarded to the Kuwait Club in recognition of their achievement.
