KUWAIT CITY, May 12: Kuwait Club asserted its dominance in the Zain Premier League by securing a resounding 5-1 victory over Al-Nasr in the 7th round of the championship group.

With this triumph, Al-Abyad remains at the top of the league table with 60 points, closely followed by Al-Arabi trailing by 3 points. Meanwhile, Al-Nasr sits in sixth place with 24 points.

From the onset, Kuwait Club took control of the match, despite missing key players and capitalized on numerous opportunities to seize the lead. Mohammed Dahham broke the deadlock in the 21st minute, only for Al-Nasr's Mohamed Al-Farsi to level the score in the 23rd minute.

However, Juma Saeed restored Kuwait Club’s lead just before halftime, followed by an own goal from Obaid Rafi in stoppage time. Dahham extended the lead in the 50th minute, with Bahraini professional Mohammed Al Marhoon sealing the victory in the 72nd minute.

In another match, Al-Arabi secured a narrow victory against Al-Salmiya, maintaining its pursuit of Kuwait Club at the top of the table.

Reflecting on the match, Al-Salmiya's Croatian coach, Ante Misha, expressed his intention to rotate players due to fatigue from recent fixtures, especially with the upcoming Amir Cup final against Al-Qadisiya.

Misha acknowledged his team's slow start but praised its resilience as it regained focus throughout the game. Despite missing several chances, Misha remained optimistic, emphasizing the importance of the upcoming final and the need to minimize errors.

He highlighted the team's preparations for the final, viewing every match as a valuable rehearsal. Looking ahead, Misha sees its upcoming fixture against Kuwait Club as crucial preparation for the Amir Cup final, underscoring their determination to clinch the title.
