DOHA, Jan 23: Kuwait Club secured a 3-1 victory over Burgan in the placement matches for 9th to 12th positions at the 43rd Arab Clubs Championship held in Doha, Qatar.
In another match within the same stage, Bahrain’s Dar Kulaib edged past the UAE’s Bani Yas with a 3-2 win.
Meanwhile, in the 13th to 15th placement round, Al-Hilal of Libya dominated Gaza of Palestine with a 3-0 victory.
In the quarter-finals, Egypt's Al-Ahly and Zamalek both cruised to 3-0 wins over Al-Salam of Oman and Al-Jazira of the UAE, respectively. Additionally, Al-Seeb of Oman triumphed over the host team, Qatar, in a thrilling 3-2 battle, while Qatar’s Al-Shorta overcame Libya’s Al-Suwaihli 3-1.
The semi-finals are set for today, with Al-Shorta of Qatar facing Zamalek, and Al-Ahly of Egypt taking on Al-Seeb of Oman.
