Kazma looking for a new win in the league.

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 27: Kuwait Club is set to raise multiple banners as it faces Kazma today at 7:50 pm at the Friendship and Peace Stadium in the eighth round of the Zain Premier League. Earlier in the same round, Khaitan will go up against Al-Tadamon at 5:50 pm at Nasser Al-Osaimi Stadium.

Kuwait Club, topping the league standings with 21 points, aims to secure its eighth win in the league, maintaining momentum toward another title while leaving behind last Wednesday’s heavy AFC Champions League loss to Shabab Al-Ahli of the UAE (4-1), which dented its qualification hopes for the next round.

Montenegrin coach Nebojsa Jovovic knows that a win is essential for Kuwait Club to restore confidence, continue its winning streak in the league, and move past the Asian setback. Securing three points would not only boost team morale but also widen the gap to six points over Al-Arabi, who is idle this round due to its Asian Challenge League commitments and postponed match against Al-Nasr.

Kazma, ranked seventh with 7 points, also has ambitions of its own, eyeing goals and aiming for a second straight victory after defeating Khaitan 2-0 in the last round. Kazma seeks to move further from the relegation zone, possibly handing Kuwait Club their first league loss, and keeping the title race alive for other teams.

Tunisian coach Lassad Al-Shaabi of Kazma understands that challenging the title-holding Kuwait Club won’t be easy. Achieving a positive result will require maximum effort against a team in pursuit of a fourth consecutive title.

In the other fixture, Al-Tadamon (8 points) looks to break out of a rough patch after recent results, losing to Al-Qadsiya 3-1 and drawing 2-2 with Al-Fahaheel. It aims for a third tournament victory.

Meanwhile, Khaitan (5 points) is also eyeing a win to climb toward mid-table safety. The recent loss to Kazma pushed Khaitan into the relegation zone, currently positioned eighth, one point behind Al-Nasr in ninth, and two points above bottom-placed Al-Yarmouk.
