Kuwait Club player goes for a solo dunk during the League Championship.

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 3: Kuwait Club will face Jeddah Union of Saudi Arabia in a highly anticipated semifinal clash of the Asian League Championship for West Asia—Gulf Region "Super League" at 7:00 p.m. at Union Hall in the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Complex. This is the first of a best-of-three playoff series.

The second leg will be held on February 11 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. If both teams secure one win each, a decisive third match will take place on March 4 in Kuwait.

Kuwait Club, the defending Gulf champion of the Asian League, qualified after finishing second in Group 1. Meanwhile, Jeddah Union secured its spot by placing third in Group 2, which also saw Al-Qadisiya—the second Kuwaiti representative—advance as the group leader.

After a surprising 83-90 loss to UAE’s Shabab Al-Ahli in the final group stage match, Al-Abyad aims to bounce back in the playoffs. German coach Peter Schommers will rely on key players, including Hamad Adnan, Hussein Al-Khabbaz, Turki Hamoud, Imran Jawhar, Abdulrahman Al-Juma, Yousef Al-Hamdan, and Musaed Al-Otaibi, alongside the American trio of Jakar Sampson, Brianti Weber, and Augustine Robit.

In domestic basketball action, Al-Qurain defeated Al-Arabi 87-77, while Yarmouk edged past Al-Tadamon 91-86.
