KUWAIT CITY, Nov 19: Kuwait Club cruised to a dominant 3-0 victory over Al-Sulaibikhat in the second round of the Federation Volleyball Championship. Meanwhile, Al-Arabi overcame significant challenges to edge out Al-Shabab 3-2 in a thrilling encounter.
Kuwait Club’s win reached six points, while Al-Sulaibikhat remains without a point. Al-Arabi earned its first two points of the tournament, leaving Al-Shabab with one. Kuwait Club, led by Turkish coach Taner Atik, displayed complete dominance, securing three straight sets with scores of 25-13, 25-10, and 25-14.
The second match saw Al-Arabi engage in a fierce battle with Al-Shabab. Al-Shabab took the first set 25-23, but Al-Arabi leveled the score by winning the second set 25-21. Al-Shabab regained the lead with a 25-20 win in the third set, but Al-Arabi fought back to take the fourth set 25-19, forcing a tiebreaker. The decider was a nail-biter, with Al-Arabi clinching it 17-15 to secure its first win of the championship.
