KUWAIT CITY, Feb 11: Kuwait Club secured the top spot in the Zain Premier League, extending its dominant form with a resounding 6-0 victory over Al-Yarmouk in the fourteenth round. This win propelled Kuwait to 39 points, giving it a clear lead in the standings.

This result broke their tie with Al-Arabi, who had shared the top spot with Kuwait Club in recent rounds. However, a goalless draw between Al-Arabi and Khaitan allowed Al-Arabi to slip to second place, two points behind Kuwait Club.

Kuwait Club’s victory marked its second consecutive 6-0 win, having previously defeated Al-Nasr with the same score. This back-to-back dominance sent a strong message to its rivals that defeating it in the remaining matches would be a formidable challenge.

Al-Arabi, who is now second with 37 points, gave up the lead it held over Kuwait Club in the previous rounds after a lackluster performance against Khaitan, currently eighth with 8 points.

In third place, Al-Qadsiya continued its progress, earning 26 points after a hard-fought victory over Kazma, who played for over 75 minutes with only 10 players. Despite the win, Al-Qadsiyah struggled, needing great effort to secure the points.

Kazma, despite losing, showed resilience and climbed to seventh place with 14 points, causing trouble for Al-Qadsiya. Meanwhile, Al-Salmiya (24 points) and Al-Fahaheel (21 points) drew 2-2, with both teams feeling comfortable for now, having distanced them from the relegation zone.

Al-Tadamon emerged as the round’s biggest beneficiary, securing a 2-0 victory over Al-Nasr, lifting it to sixth place with 17 points, and ending its recent losing streak.

The trio of Khaitan (8 points), Al-Nasr (6 points), and Yarmouk (5 points) continued to struggle and are now all but certain to compete in the relegation avoidance league. Khaitan, however, still has a slim chance, needing to win its next four matches and hope for losses from Al-Tadamon.
