KUWAIT CITY, March 15: Brigadier General Sheikh Mubarak Ali Yousef Al-Sabah, Director General of the Coast Guard, emphasized the critical importance of enhancing inspection efforts and maintaining the readiness of the maritime security system. He stated that the Coast Guard will not hesitate to take legal action against violators.
This statement followed Sheikh Mubarak’s supervision of a comprehensive inspection campaign conducted by the Coast Guard in Kuwait Bay, using the mobile operations room stationed at the Nawaf Al-Ahmad Coast Guard Base.
Sheikh Mubarak highlighted that the Coast Guard will continue its round-the-clock maritime patrols to ensure the safety of seagoers and safeguard Kuwait's territorial waters from any violations.
The Ministry of Interior noted that the campaign, attended by several senior Coast Guard leaders, is part of the ongoing efforts to maintain maritime security and ensure adherence to regulations within Kuwait’s territorial waters. The initiative aims to strengthen maritime oversight and ensure that vessels comply with security and safety standards.
As part of the campaign, various inspections were carried out on automatic identification devices and other security and safety equipment to ensure compliance with approved systems. Additionally, the campaign focused on ensuring that boat and ship owners adhered to maritime laws and procedures.
The Ministry of Interior reiterated that the inspection campaign is part of a broader strategy to enhance maritime security and reduce illegal activities that could endanger maritime navigation or harm the marine environment.
The Ministry also called on all seagoers to adhere to security guidelines and follow instructions issued by the competent authorities, underscoring that these measures are essential for ensuring their safety and the safety of others.
