KUWAIT CITY, Jan 26: The Ministry of Interior has announced the continued disbursement of social assistance to eligible beneficiaries in the "Kuwaiti Treatment" category. The total amount transferred to bank accounts has reached approximately 413,718 Kuwaiti Dinars for 485 approved cases, according to Dr. Khaled Al-Ajmi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Affairs.
In a statement released by the Ministry of Interior today, Sunday, the Article Eight Affairs Office highlighted that a dedicated team has been allocated to facilitate procedures and receive beneficiaries at the Ministries Complex. This initiative aims to ensure a swift response for those whose nationalities have been revoked, including widowed and divorced wives of Kuwaiti citizens.
The office further explained that since its establishment and the start of its operations 14 working days ago, it has achieved significant progress in coordination with relevant authorities. Dr. Al-Ajmi noted that the Public Authority for Civil Information has responded by activating the "My Identity" app on January 12, 2025, for individuals whose nationalities have been withdrawn. Additionally, staff have been assigned to Hall No. (2) in the Authority’s building to assist those facing difficulties in activating the app, helping them update the required data, including submitting a recent personal photo or photocopies of their most recent passport.
In terms of emergency cases, the Article Eight Affairs Office reported that it has successfully processed seven cases and facilitated their travel procedures smoothly. The office receives thousands of calls daily and responds to approximately 150 calls each day. Furthermore, 2,429 registration forms have been submitted through a designated link sent via the WhatsApp application.
The office has also strengthened coordination between various agencies by using electronic communication to exchange information regarding laws, decrees, and decisions related to this group. This streamlined communication ensures a quicker and more efficient coordination between the concerned entities.
These efforts are part of the Article Eight Affairs Office's commitment to providing an immediate and effective response to the needs of the target group, in collaboration with the relevant authorities.
