KUWAIT CITY, March 18: As part of ongoing efforts to combat drug and alcohol trafficking, the Criminal Security Sector, represented by the General Department for Drug Control, has successfully apprehended a four-member gang involved in the nationwide distribution of imported liquor and psychotropic substances.

Based on intelligence received and verified and after obtaining legal authorization from the Public Prosecution, the suspects—two Kuwaiti citizens, a Saudi national, and an Indian national—were arrested. During the operation, authorities seized 919 bottles of imported alcoholic beverages and approximately 200 psychotropic tablets in their possession. The suspects, along with the confiscated items, have been handed over to the Drug and Alcohol Prosecution Office for further legal proceedings.

The General Department of Narcotics Control reaffirms its commitment to continuing security campaigns aimed at targeting drug and alcohol dealers and promoters. The department emphasizes its unwavering stance against anyone who threatens societal security by importing or trading in these prohibited substances.
