Qasim Ali ,the head coach & development manager for Kuwait men’s, women’s and juniors teams.

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 22: Kuwait Cricket Board appoints Qasim Ali as the head coach & development manager for Kuwait men’s, women’s and juniors teams.Qasim, born and raised in the United Kingdom is a highly qualified and experienced Level Four Master Coach from England And Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and comes on board as highly recommended within the international scene of the ICC & ACC with a depth of experience from South Asia, Middle East & Europe.

Haider Farman the President of Kuwait Cricket Board said that "It’s with great pleasure that I’m able to announce, following an extensive and rigorous global recruitment process, that we have appointed Qasim Ali, ECB level 4 master coach and former head of the ICC Global Cricket Academy as the Head Coach & Development Manager for all our national teams of men’s, women’s and juniors…On behalf of the board, I welcome Qasim to our beloved State of Kuwait and wish him all the best for the upcoming challenges and opportunities of ICC & ACC pathway events as well as all the bilateral series that are being lined up.”

Qasim started his coaching journey with Lancashire County Cricket Club working with the youth, women’s and senior professionals of Lancashire CCC before taking up a leading role in coaching within the ECB set up where he won the Coach of the Year award at the ECB’s Annual Asian Cricket Awards.

After completing his Level 4 coaching qualifications, Qasim was appointed as Head Coach and Head of Development for the ICC Global Cricket Academy in Dubai for over 5 years plus. During his time at ICCA, Qasim was instrumental behind the design, implementation and the success of the ICCA Scholarship Programme, which has developed numerous international players who have gone on to play for the UAE & various franchise leagues.Qasim, also comes with a range of high level experiences in T-10 & T-20 Franchise Leagues representing T10 winners Maratha Arabians & Deccan Gladiators working as Fielding Coach and more recently Bangla Tigers.

The Director General of KCC, Sajid Ashraf said “we feel confident that with Qasim’s knowledge and international experience spread across various cultures with Test playing countries and associate member countries that all of our national players who are a permanent part of the high performance camp will soon feel the impact of the continued improvement of our cricket development programs under Qasim’s modern day style of coaching and leadership.”
