Kuwaiti deaf futsal team.

SAO PAULO, Nov 14, (KUNA): The Kuwaiti deaf futsal team secured a spot in the quarterfinals of the Futsal World Cup in Brazil. Emerging at the top of the third group with seven points, the team's goal difference outshone Switzerland, marking a historic achievement for the Kuwait Deaf Sports Club, as stated by coach Salem Aman to KUNA on Tuesday.

The team exhibited a strong performance, defeating Denmark 5-2, achieving a similar victory against the UK, and settling for a 2-2 draw with Switzerland, Aman explained. Up next, Kuwait are set to face Thailand in the quarterfinals on Wednesday. A victory in this match would pave the way for a semi-final encounter against the winners of the Iran vs Czech Republic matchup, Aman added.

Commencing last Friday in Sao Paulo, the tournament is scheduled to conclude on November 19, featuring the participation of 14 national teams. Prior to the competition, the Kuwaiti team underwent intensive training in Granada, Spain, where they played a 2-2 draw against the Spanish team, the reigning champions, and suffered a narrow 3-2 defeat in a subsequent match.
