Kuwait debut at UAE International Championship

DUBAI, Oct 16: Fuhaid Al-Ajmi, the President of the Kuwaiti Winter Games Club, has announced that the Kuwaiti national ice skating team will make their international debut in the game of skiing at the upcoming UAE International Championship. The championship is set to commence in Dubai tomorrow and marks the team’s inaugural participation in skiing, a discipline within the Winter Olympic Games.

Al-Ajmi further revealed that the Kuwaiti national team, led by club board member Mohsen Al-Muasab, is accompanied by players Abdul-Wahab Al-Maatouq and Salman Al-Kandari. The delegation departed for the Emirates in preparation for their involvement in the tournament, organized by the Emirates Winter Games Federation in collaboration with the International Ski Federation. This sporting event will span over three days.

Al-Maatouq will be representing Kuwait in the skateboarding competition, while his teammate, Al-Kandari, is set to compete in the freestyle skating event. Al-Ajmi expressed optimism that these two athletes will deliver exceptional performances during their first international appearance.
