Kuwait designates Boys Welfare Home as child protection center

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 21: Iman Al- Enezi, acting Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, said the Boys Welfare Home building under the Social Care Homes Complex has been designated as a specialized center for child protection. In a press statement, Al-Enezi confirmed that efforts are being exerted to develop the structure over the next years following the highest professional and international standards to establish it as a model for offering a secure and all-encompassing environment for child protection. She clarified this action is part of the council’s efforts to improve a secure and all-encompassing environment for children and to offer services that protect them, help them grow, and improve their abilities under the best approved international programs. “We are keen on intensifying national efforts to protect children and provide them with a safe environment that guarantees their rights and supports their aspirations. We must take care of the children with all sincerity.

Allocating a center for child protection is a reflection of our commitment to better serve this precious group,” she added. In a related development, Al-Enezi announced that the Secretariat General of the council, in cooperation with the Kuwait Lawyers Association, will organize the celebration of International Children’s Day, under the slogan “Trusted,” at the Avenues Mall on Thursday. “Our celebration this year is not limited to awareness activities, as we aim to convey Kuwait’s message on promoting children’s rights and protecting them as a fundamental pillar on the path of community development. The event includes a variety of cultural and entertainment activities that are intended to raise awareness of children’s rights and emphasize the significance of protecting children, in line with Kuwait’s exceptional vision in this field,” she revealed. She also confirmed the commitment to continue intensifying efforts to protect children and provide the best services that guarantee their well-being, as well as their psychological and social security; stressing “the child is the trust that must be preserved and developed.”
