KUWAIT CITY, Dec 19: In accordance with Ministerial Decision No. 2361 of 2024, issued by His Excellency Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, the First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Minister of Interior, a committee was reformed to oversee the destruction of seized alcohol in criminal cases with final judgments. Major General Dr. Faisal Khaled Al-Mukrad, Director General of the General Directorate of Investigations, assigned the head and members of the Alcohol Destruction Committee to carry out this task.
The operation was conducted in cooperation with several agencies, including the Kuwait Municipality, the General Directorate for Drug Control, the General Directorate of Supply and Catering, the General Directorate of Emergency Police, and the General Directorate of Security Relations and Media. Together, they destroyed 6,828 bottles of imported alcohol, which had been seized in case No. 24/2023, Drug Misdemeanors.
This action is part of the Ministry’s ongoing commitment to safeguarding the country’s security by combating lawbreakers, as well as intercepting drug and alcohol smugglers and distributors. The initiative aims to protect society from the harmful effects of these substances and is in line with Ministerial Decision No. 15 of 2016, which mandates the destruction of alcohol seized in criminal cases.
