KUWAIT CITY, April 20:  Amid intense competition among over 70 male and female riders from various local clubs, standout performances marked the Kuwait Equestrian Center's Dressage Championship, held on Friday and Saturday under the Center’s patronage.

Riders Abdullah Al-Amer, Dalal Al-Sharhan, Abdulrahman Al-Hawqal, and Amira Abdulghani claimed top honors in their respective categories, showcasing skill and poise in a highly competitive atmosphere.

The event was judged by a panel led by international judge Yuri Romanov, with judges Alaa Salem Al-Sultan, Naseeba Al-Muasherji, and Beverly McEvie also officiating.

The training level competitions were fiercely contested, with Amira Abdulghani securing first place. At the basic level, Dalal Al-Sharhan took the top spot, while the following category saw a victory by rider Abdulamir.

In the intermediate classes, Abdulrahman Al-Hawqal won the first category, while Abdullah Al-Amer triumphed in the second intermediate category—the highest level of the tournament.

Champions were crowned by referee Yuri Romanov and trainer Jassim Al-Khalfan, who also serves as a coach at the Kuwait Equestrian Center. Al-Khalfan praised the success of the championship, noting it set a new participation record for local dressage events, with over 70 riders and an average of 96 tests conducted.
