Kuwait enforces biometric law for all citizens, no exceptions

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 5: The Ministry of Interior issued a clarification regarding the statement made by First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef concerning biometric fingerprint procedures. The Ministry explained that the citizen mentioned in the press release had successfully completed the biometric fingerprint process upon arriving at Kuwait International Airport, and all necessary procedures had been followed in case of any failure to complete them.

The Ministry emphasized the importance of adhering to the example set by the country's political leadership, including His Highness the Amir, who was among the first to comply with biometric fingerprinting, demonstrating that government regulations apply to all citizens without exception. The Ministry urged all individuals who have not yet completed the biometric fingerprint procedures to do so as soon as possible, warning that failure to comply would result in the suspension of all banking and government transactions, along with other necessary measures.

Addressing rumors circulated on social media, the Ministry of Interior reiterated that no Kuwaiti citizen could be prevented from entering the country or forced to leave. However, all citizens are required to follow the laws of Kuwait, with no exceptions. The Ministry clarified that the statement by Minister Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef had been taken out of context and stressed that no orders had been issued to block any citizen from returning to Kuwait. Nonetheless, the law will be applied equally to everyone.
