Director General of Civil Aviation Sheikh Humoud Al-Sabah holds a meeting with the Canadian Civil Aviation official.

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, Oct 22: Kuwait's Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) signed agreements and minutes of meetings on Monday to regulate air transport and develop the civil aviation sector with Canada, Singapore, Botswana, and Zimbabwe. The agreements were signed following bilateral discussions with civil aviation officials from these countries.

DGCA Chairman Sheikh Humoud Mubarak Al-Humoud Al-Jaber Al-Sabah told KUNA that the signing of these agreements was part of the DGCA's participation in the first day of the International Conventions Conference (ICAN 2024), held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Sheikh Humoud Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah also held a meeting with Kuwait's Ambassador to Malaysia, Rashed Al-Saleh, to discuss opportunities and measures to support and facilitate the operations of air carriers between the two countries.

He further explained that the DGCA will hold meetings with several other countries in the coming days to increase cooperation and strengthen bilateral relations between Kuwait and other participating nations in the field of civil aviation.

The Malaysian Ministry of Transport is hosting the ICAN 2024 meeting, organized and supervised by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), from October 21 to 25. Representatives from civil aviation authorities around the world, as well as various regional and international organizations specializing in civil aviation, are attending the event.

This international meeting offers an opportunity for bilateral negotiations and consultations on aviation services, allowing policymakers, regulatory bodies, aircraft operators, service providers, and other stakeholders to engage and collaborate. (KUNA)
