Kuwait Experiences Coldest February in 60 Years

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 25: Kuwait experienced its coldest February temperatures in years today, as a strong Siberian polar cold wave caused an unprecedented drop in temperatures. Meteorologist Issa Ramadan reported that the perceived temperature in Mataraba fell to -8°C, while in Salmi, it reached -6°C. The actual recorded minimum temperatures were -1°C in both Mataraba and Salmi. Meanwhile, in Kuwait City, the perceived temperature was 0°C, with an actual minimum of 8°C. According to climate data from the Meteorology Department, Ramadan stated that this cold wave is among the most extreme February cold spells Kuwait has experienced in the past 60 years, particularly in desert regions. This highlights the severity of the unusual weather event.
