Kuwait eyes crucial victory over Jordan in World Cup qualifiers

KUWAIT CITY, November 18; Kuwait national football team coach Juan Pizzi said on Monday that the team is aiming to achieve a positive result in its match against Jordan, which will take place Tuesday, as part of the Asian qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.

Pizzi expressed, during a press conference ahead of the match, his strong confidence in the players, their abilities, and their determination to deliver an honorable performance to keep their hopes of qualifying for the World Cup alive.

He added that the Kuwaiti team is capable of competing with the strongest teams in the Asian continent, while acknowledging the difficulty of the task at this stage of the qualifiers.

For his part, Kuwaiti national team player Eid Al-Rashidi said during the press conference that the players are eager to repay the fans who have supported them throughout the qualifiers. He emphasized that victory is the only objective in tomorrow's match to reignite the team's chances of qualifying for the World Cup. He also called on sports fans to continue supporting the "Blues," as they always have.

On the other hand, Jordanian national team coach Jamal Al-Salami stressed during the conference the challenge posed by the match against Kuwait, the host country. He confirmed that his team is well-prepared to achieve a positive result.

Al-Salami noted that the Kuwaiti national team has remarkable capabilities, which it has demonstrated in several group matches, including its ability to score against South Korea.

Meanwhile, Jordanian national team player Abdullah Naseeb said that matches between the Jordanian and Kuwaiti teams are always intense, filled with enthusiasm and rivalry. He added that the qualifiers have entered their final stages, making each match more challenging than the last. Naseeb stressed the importance of securing victory in tomorrow's match to edge closer to the World Cup.
