MUSCAT, April 12: Mohammed Al-Khalfan, Director General of the Kuwait Olympic Committee, emphasized that sports tournaments and events play a crucial role in supporting Gulf integration, particularly in the realm of sports, offering mutual benefits for all participating nations.

Al-Khalfan made these remarks during his leadership of the Kuwaiti delegation at the 3rd Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Beach Games (Muscat 2025).

He highlighted the significant importance of such sporting events in strengthening social cohesion and promoting unity and brotherhood among the people of the GCC countries. These gatherings, he said, are vital in fostering collaboration and mutual understanding across the region.

Al-Khalfan also underscored the Kuwait Olympic Committee's commitment to participating in this major event, which not only unites the GCC nations through sport but also strengthens the ties of solidarity among the Gulf peoples.

He further noted that the directors of the Gulf delegations attending the Beach Games recently discussed the possibility of Kuwait hosting the next edition, following the success of this year’s games. This discussion follows a 10-year gap since the last Beach Games, which were held in Doha in 2015.
