Kuwaiti team led by the coach preparing for the World Cup qualifier against Oman.

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 2: Kuwait soccer team manager Abdulrahman Al-Mousa described the upcoming match against Oman as “difficult,” particularly given Oman’s losses in the first two rounds of qualifiers.

The Blues are set to face the Omani team next Thursday in Muscat during the third round of Group Two qualifiers for the decisive stage of the 2026 World Cup, which will be hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada. Al-Mousa noted, “Oman has lost two matches and will give everything it has in this game.” He emphasized that the Blues are fully aware of this and will prepare accordingly, acknowledging that their mental and physical readiness must be heightened.

He stated that the Blues performed “exceptionally well” in the first two rounds against a strong Jordanian side and a formidable Iraqi team. Al-Mousa also praised the new technical staff for making noticeable improvements in a short period, highlighting that Argentine coach Juan Pizzi is dedicated to sharing his strategies with the players during their daily training sessions in the current camp in the Emirates.

In related news, Kuwait Club players are set to join the Blues’ camp in Dubai today, following their participation in the AFC Champions League qualifiers, where they faced Al-Hussein Irbid of Jordan yesterday in the second round.

Players Youssef Nasser, Mashari Ghannam, Saud Al-Hoshan, Fahad Al-Hajri, Mohammed Daham, Sami Al-Sanea, Faisal Zayed, and Reda Hani did not travel with the Blues to Dubai, as the camp commenced last Monday. The national team continues its daily training sessions, with morning workouts at the Iron Hall near its accommodation in Dubai, followed by evening sessions at the Police Officers Club Stadium.
