KUWAIT CITY, Sept 19:  In the inaugural Gulf Cricket Championship hosted in Doha, the Kuwaiti cricket team faced a defeat on Tuesday at the hands of their Emirati counterparts, with a score of 145 runs to 176.

This marks the second consecutive loss for the Kuwaiti team, following their defeat against the host nation, Qatar, the previous day, with a score of 155 runs to 156. This unfortunate streak has left Kuwait's total score frozen at four points.

Kuwait's cricket journey in the tournament began on a promising note as they triumphed over the Saudi team with a close score of (143 - 142). Subsequently, they secured a victory against Bahrain with a score of (124 - 123).

The Gulf Cricket Championship employs a league system, where teams accumulate points throughout the competition. The two teams with the highest points will advance to the final round, where the tournament champion will be decided.

Next up, the Kuwaiti national team is scheduled to face off against the Oman national team on the upcoming Friday.

The Gulf Cricket Championship, hosted by Qatar, commenced on September 15 and will continue until the 23rd of this month.
