Kuwait Fire Force warns against heater hazards, offers safety precautions

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 26: The Kuwait Fire Force has issued important safety guidelines for the proper use of electric heating devices to prevent accidents and ensure safe operation during the winter season.

Key safety procedures include:

Direct connection: Ensure that the electric heater is plugged directly into the main power outlet (socket), avoiding the use of multiple electrical adapters.

Turn off when not in use: Always turn off and disconnect heaters when sleeping or leaving the house, and refrain from leaving them running continuously.

Pre-use safety check: Before using the heater, check that the device, wiring, and connections are in good condition.

Ventilation: Do not block the heater’s ventilation openings, and avoid using the device for heating or drying clothes.

Safe placement: Place the heater in a secure location to prevent it from tipping over, and keep it away from rugs, curtains, furniture, and other flammable materials.

Burn prevention: Maintain a safe distance between the heater and the body to prevent burns.

Proper ventilation: Ensure that the area is well-ventilated when using heating devices to prevent suffocation risks.

These guidelines are aimed at enhancing safety and preventing potential hazards associated with the use of electric heaters. The Kuwait Fire Force urges the public to adhere to these safety measures to ensure a safe and secure environment.
