Thunderstorms and Heavy Rain Expected Through Weekend

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 31: The Kuwait Fire Service Directorate has issued a safety alert urging citizens and residents to stay vigilant as the country faces ongoing unstable weather conditions. In a statement released by the GFF's Public Relations and Media Department, the agency highlighted the need for caution and encouraged the public to reach out for assistance if necessary. Emergency services remain accessible through the hotline at 112.

The Kuwait Meteorology Department reported that the weather forecast indicates continued scattered rain, with chances of thunderstorms, especially through Saturday evening. Wind speeds are expected to vary from light to moderate, primarily southeasterly, with gusts reaching up to 42 km/h. These conditions will contribute to partly cloudy to cloudy skies with intermittent rain and occasional thunder across the country.

An increase in low and medium cloud cover is expected into Thursday, bringing more accumulation of clouds and moderate rain, with thunder possible at varying intervals. The weather is forecast to improve gradually starting Sunday as rain chances and cloud cover begin to decrease.

The Meteorology Department advises citizens and residents to follow updates on weather conditions by visiting their official website, www.met.gov.kw, or through the "Kuwait Met" app. The department underscores the importance of checking for potential weather warnings, especially during times of instability.

Daytime temperatures are expected to reach a maximum of 30°C, while night temperatures may drop as low as 14°C, with continued cool, cloudy conditions and scattered rain potential through the nights.
