Kuwait, France forge new public works partnerships

KUWAIT CITY, April 26: Minister of Public Works Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan presided over an official meeting with French Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Noël Barrot at Bayan Palace last Thursday. Present at the meeting were Minister of State for Municipal and Housing Affairs Abdullatif Al- Mishari and Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy Dr. Subaih Al-Mukhaizeem. The meeting focused on the need to align governmental initiatives to bolster collaborative ventures, contributing to the development of bilateral relations between Kuwait and France. They discussed ways to strengthen strategic partnerships between the Ministry of Public Works, Public Authority for Roads and Transportation (PART), and French corporations, by the objectives of Kuwait towards infrastructural development and utilization of French expertise. They also deliberated on the proposed agreements for the execution of projects that are vital for Kuwait’s development strategy. Al-Mashaan affirmed the robust and productive foundation of Kuwaiti-French relations at the meeting. The discussions touched on the evolution of infrastructure with eight French companies, including projects related to waste recycling, energy, and residential development. Opportunities for collaboration in the operation of Kuwait International Airport, waste recycling, housing development and electrical system modernization were explored with the specialized French entities. This meeting reflects the commitment of Kuwait to strengthen cooperation in the realization of common objectives.
