Kuwait Freezes Ice Cream Cart Licenses Over Health Concerns

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 26: The Municipality and Ministry of Interior, along with the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition, have agreed on a proposal to halt the renewal of licenses for ice cream carts across Kuwait.

According to an informed source, a meeting was held last week at the office of the Minister of Municipality, Abdul Latif Al-Mishari. The session included Dr. Reem Al-Fulaij, Chairperson and Director General of the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition, and a representative from the Ministry of Interior. Discussions addressed concerns surrounding the health, social, and security risks posed by these ice cream carts, as well as issues related to improper storage practices, especially during the hot summer months. This decision reflects a collective response to growing concerns over health and safety standards within the sector.
