KUWAIT CITY, Dec 7: The Supreme Organizing Committee for the Third Edition of the Arabian Gulf Cup in "Padel" is working diligently to host this exciting event in Kuwait from December 11 to 15, at the Regency Hotel’s courts.
The men's competition will feature six teams: Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE, Oman, Bahrain, and Kuwait, the tournament's host. Meanwhile, the women's category will have four teams, representing Saudi Arabia, Oman, the UAE, and Kuwait.
The men's competition will be divided into two groups of three teams, each playing in a round-robin format. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals, followed by knockout rounds leading to the final. The same league system will be applied in the women's competition.
Kuwait's men's national team will be represented by eight players: Abdulaziz Mayouf, Mohammed Al-Turki, Abdullah Al-Roudhan, Mohammed Al-Qattan, Fawaz Al-Ajmi, Hamad Malallah, Mishaal Al-Duaij, and Hussein Al-Sarraf. The team is coached by Mark Arcosa, with Antonio assisting as the fitness trainer.
The women’s team will consist of Dana Al-Fulaij, Maryam Al-Sarraj, Nour Hassan, Dalal Al-Jazzaf, Dalal Al-Qanaei, Maryam Al-Sadhan, and Dalal Al-Fares. They are coached by Lisandro, with Omar Al-Masbahi as the assistant coach.
Mansour Bouhamad, the technical director of the men's team, stated that intensive training for the tournament began on November 2, and the team will begin an internal camp today in preparation for the competition.
