KUWAIT CITY, May 11: The Kuwaiti Association of Family Physicians and General Practitioners made a significant announcement today, Saturday, revealing the launch of the Second Kuwait International Family Medicine Conference set to commence on May 16 for three days. The event will unfold under the esteemed patronage of Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadhi, Minister of Health.

Dr. Hoda Al-Duwaisan, the head of the association’s advisory council, emphasized in a press statement the pivotal role of this conference in bolstering primary health care. She highlighted its aim to enhance the medical expertise of professionals working in the field by acquainting them with the latest advancements and innovations of comprehensive and preventative medical care.

The conference is strategically designed to foster awareness and proficiency in diagnosing and managing chronic illnesses. It also seeks to provide avenues for professional growth and training through interactive panel discussions featuring a distinguished cohort of seasoned lecturers from both local and regional domains, each specializing in their respective fields.

Dr. Al-Duwaisan underscored the event’s regional significance, noting the participation of over 20 speakers from various countries alongside multiple external stakeholders. This inclusive approach is poised to bolster communication and collaboration with local and regional health authorities. Additionally, 18 specialized lecturers from Kuwait will contribute their insights to the conference proceedings.

Dr. Mishari Al-Osaimi, Chairman of the Conference Organizing Committee, reiterated the conference’s alignment with Kuwait Vision 2035 and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. He emphasized its pivotal role in elevating human, societal, and environmental well-being. Dr. Al-Osaimi stressed the indispensable role of family physicians in realizing these ambitious goals.

Highlighting the conference’s commitment to advancing scientific research and professional development in family medicine, Dr. Al-Osaimi announced a scientific poster competition. Evaluated by a specialized jury committee both in-person and virtually, this initiative aims to facilitate knowledge exchange and networking opportunities among medical peers.

Moreover, the conference offers continuing education points accredited by the Kuwait Institute for Medical Specialties, totaling 28 points across conference sessions and workshops. Dr. Al-Osaimi extended a warm invitation to all colleagues and individuals passionate about family medicine and primary health care to participate and register for this enriching event.
