KUWAIT CITY, Jan 18: The Ministry of Interior has recently issued Ministerial Resolution No. 26/2024, aiming to provide an avenue for expats who violated residency law before 2020 to rectify their status by settling fines. This directive comes in the wake of the annulment of Resolution No. 288/2020, which mandated the deporting expats without a valid residence permit.

Following scrutiny of Decree-Law No. 38/1980, addressing the enactment of the Civil and Commercial Procedures Law, and a reassessment of Ministerial Resolution No. 288/2020 outlining protocols for deporting expats lacking valid residence permits or holding expired visa, the decision has been made based on the proposal presented by the Undersecretary for assignment
Article One of the resolution declares the cancellation of the aforementioned Resolution No. 288/2020.
Article Two mandates the acting Undersecretary to execute and enforce this decision.
It is important to note that the highest fines imposed by the Ministry of Interior for violators amount to 600 dinars.
