KUWAIT CITY, Oct 30: Kuwaiti Handball Association member Talal Zaid Al-Otaibi presented a commemorative shield to Dr. Muhammad Al-Amin, President of the Egyptian Handball Association, in recognition of his efforts in supporting Kuwaiti handball teams. This includes facilitating their participation in tournaments and organizing external training camps in Cairo.
Additionally, the retirement ceremony for national team star Abdulaziz Al-Zaabi, who has made significant contributions to Al-Salmiya Handball Club, will take place alongside a friendly match between the Kuwaiti national team and the Bahraini handball team on November 7. This event will be held at the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Complex Hall in Sabah Al-Salem and is part of the inaugural Kuwait International Championship. Sheikh Ahmad Al-Yousef Al-Sabah will sponsor Al-Zaabi's retirement match.
Al-Zaabi expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Sheikh Ahmad Al-Yousef for his support, acknowledging him as a long-standing advocate for athletes across various sports. He also thanked his teammates, administrative staff, and coaches for their collaboration throughout his career.
In recent league action, the Al-Sulaibikhat handed Al-Qadsiya its third defeat of the season with a decisive 34-23 victory in the fifth round. This victory brings Al-Sulaibikhat's total points to six, placing them in sixth position, while Al-Qadsiya sits in tenth with four points from two wins and three losses. In another match, Al-Fahaheel triumphed 35-32 over Khaitan, leaving both teams with four points but positioning Al-Fahaheel in ninth and Khaitan in seventh place.
The sixth round of the league is scheduled to take place tomorrow and the day after.
