Burgan Club new recruit Semedo.

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 30: Following the directives of the Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Daoud Marafi, the General Sports Authority has announced the scheduling of handball league matches for the 2023-2024 season at the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Hall. Additionally, the hall will be designated for the training of the national handball team.

This decision aligns with Minister Marafi's commitment to the national team, expressed during their reception at the airport after securing qualification for the 2025 World Cup. The pledge included overcoming previous obstacles, providing the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Hall for national team training, organizing a league for them, and supporting the handball game to further enhance Kuwait's achievements in sports.

Previously, the General Sports Authority communicated with the Handball Federation to arrange league matches at the old Federation hall in Daiya. The anticipated start date for the handball league is February 6, with a possibility of a slight delay for the federation to prepare the hall. The schedule for the "Super" tournament may also be adjusted accordingly.

In other news, Burgan Club has signed Semedo as their second professional player, following the acquisition of Egyptian Mustafa Bashir. Semedo's arrival was confirmed by the game director, Abdelaziz Naguib. The team's roster is now complete, including experienced and young players, both free agents and those on loan. Notable members include goalkeepers Salman Kamal, Abdullah Al-Halwaji, and Abdulaziz Al-Tattan, along with players Youssef Daif, Ahmed Murad, Abdulrahman Al-Anazi, Salem Al-Qaryan, Youssef Haidar, Jarrah Khairallah, Nasser Al-Dosari, Hamad Al-Saqr, Hussein Al-Sayegh, and Abdulaziz Al-Najdi.

Meanwhile, Al-Fahaheel Club has secured Algerian Mohamed Masoudane as the coach for their first team.
